Update on WDC and Covid-19

Given the tenuous climate created by the COVID-19 outbreak, are writing to provide you with an update regarding the 2020 Workforce Development Conference.

At this writing, IAWP remains committed to hosting the 2020 Workforce Development Conference in Pittsburgh, June 28 – July 1, 2020.  The health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and staff is our uncompromising priority, so we are monitoring and will continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 outbreak closely.

We recommend that you refrain from purchasing any travel that is not fully refundable.  We will provide you with regular updates on the status of the 2020WDC.

In the meantime, we encourage you to take all precautions necessary to keep yourself healthy prior to the conference.  The CDC recommends:

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash your hands OFTEN with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.

Thank you for your support and your flexibility.  We are happy to answer any questions that may arise.
